TITHE HOAX: ③ Fake Testimonies.

Dear in Christ,

This article is the third in the series on tithe hoax, please ensure that you have read parts one and two, before reading this.

Fake Tithe Testimonies.

Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
  • “I started tithing and within a week I got a hike”.
  • “We have not been tithing for long, and we remained childless, now within a year of tithing, we are blessed with beautiful twin babies”,
  • “We tithed our pastor for a year and my son got a green card”...
There are millions of testimonies from tithers claiming all sort of things. We are duty bound to believe their testimonies because they are from “Christians” and they are published on “Christian websites”.

I need to congratulate on being blessed with those two beautiful twin babies. I have a doubt here. There are millions of Hindus and Muslims out there who faced infertility problems and were blessed with beautiful babies, be it twins or not. Is there a way to prove that they were blessed with babies because they secretly tithed some pastor?
Psa 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
Which pastor did Isaac tithe to have children, while he realized that his wife Rebecca was barren?
Gen 25:21 And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
If tithing can result in material gains, hike in salaries, getting employed or green card or whatever, let us ask ourselves, how many in Forbes The World's Billionaires list would have made it to the top by tithing their pastors? Bill Gates? Warren Buffet? Amancio Ortega? Mukesh Ambani? Anil Ambani? Azim Premji? and not to forget Mark Zuckerberg?

If pastors are the conduits of divine blessing, why none of the tithe fleecing pastors have made it to the Forbes list of richest people? Do you know that the richest pastors in the world like T D Jakes and David Oyedepo are not even worth a tenth of the 1000th richest person in the world? As practicing “Christians”, they also should have tithed and according to Mal 3:10. which they often quote, Jehovah should have opened the windows of heaven and made them richer than Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

Provision for the maintenance of the house of the LORD.

Every time we tell people that tithing has nothing to do with New Covenant Christians, they keep mentioning the bills to be paid and the maintenance of the church, among many other things. To the best of my knowledge, there was no provisions in the Law of Moses for the maintenance of the tabernacle or the temple.

However, during the days of king Jehoash and while Jehoiada was the priest the need for maintaining the temple arose. Jehoash instructed to them that the money that they receive from their acquaintances should be used for the maintenance of the temple. All the priests consented to the suggestion. At that point, Jehoiada the priest, came up with an idea:
2Ki 12:9 But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the LORD: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the LORD. (an offering box was made and kept beside the altar)
2Ki 12:10 And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king's scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the LORD.
2Ki 12:11 And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,
2Ki 12:12 And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.
2Ki 12:13 Howbeit there were not made for the house of the LORD bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the LORD: (the money was not utilized for the fixed assets of the temple)
2Ki 12:14 But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the LORD.
2Ki 12:15 Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.
2Ki 12:16 The trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the LORD: it was the priests'.
Whatever money was collected from the people as offering was meant exclusively for the laborers who did the maintenance of the temple. (Whatever money was personally given to the priests were theirs).

So, Pastor John Doe, you can't collect money for the maintenance of the church and use it for your dream villa or private jet.

In Christ,
Tomsan Kattackal
