Friend,
Do you have vile sinners among you and you want to save their spirit? Very simple solution: Deliver them to Satan!
Please read 1 Cor 5:5:
1Cor 5:5 is very clear, deliver a fornicator (see 1 Cor 5:1) to Satan and his spirit will be saved in the day of the Lord.
If there are sinful people in your congregation, community or even family, hand them over to Satan so that THEIR SPIRITS WILL BE SAVED IN THE DAY OF THE LORD.
Most of the sensible scholars agree that delivering to Satan means excommunicating the sinner. Though they are not forthcoming as to how they arrived at the theory, it is based on the instructions of Jesus on handling offenders. Please read Matt 18:15-20, where Jesus tells us how to handle someone who causes discord among brethren.
Though this man is into fornication, the church at Corinth (Achaia) was shamelessly protecting him. (Verses 2, 3). Paul tells them to deliver him to Satan while they come together in the name of Christ - as a congregation. In other words: SHIELD HIM NO MORE, EXCOMMUNICATE HIM.
Once excommunicated, he will have to go back to his own Jewish people, who will stone him to death for lying with his fathers wife. (Lev 18:8). He has received the punishment for his sin, which is death and his spirit would be saved in the day of the Lord.
In the modern day circumstances, if there are people who break civil laws, hand them over to law enforcement agencies.
Even in the case of blasphemers (1Tim 1:18-20), they were to be excommunicated, so that they would be stoned to death by Jews, if such blasphemers were of Jewish origin (Lev 24:16).
Do you have vile sinners among you and you want to save their spirit? Very simple solution: Deliver them to Satan!
Please read 1 Cor 5:5:
- 1Co 5:5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
- If this true, there is no need to preach the gospel - just handle all the sinners to Satan so that their Spirits will be saved.
- If this is true, Satan is not a bad character at all - after all "he" is to save even vile sinners.
- If this is true, Jesus Christ and His sacrifice were redundant, God could have provided for handing over all the sinners to Satan, so that ALL could be saved.
Do you have blasphemers among you whom you want to correct? Easy way out: Deliver them to Satan and they will learn not to blaspheme!
- 1Ti 1:20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
How to deliver someone to Satan?
There is no need to learn any new prayers or mantras; no need to place hand on the sinful man so that you can deliver him to Satan. I will give you the address of Satan, go and deliver the sinners among you to Satan! Bonus, it is 100% Biblical:- Rev 2:12 And to the angel of the church in PERGAMOS write;...
- Rev 2:13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even WHERE SATAN'S SEAT IS: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, WHERE SATAN DWELLETH.
What does "delivering to Satan" really mean?
Most of the sensible scholars agree that delivering to Satan means excommunicating the sinner. Though they are not forthcoming as to how they arrived at the theory, it is based on the instructions of Jesus on handling offenders. Please read Matt 18:15-20, where Jesus tells us how to handle someone who causes discord among brethren.
- Talk to him directly - Matt 18:15 (if he listens, you save him from the embarrassment of excommunication.)
- Talk to him in the presence of a couple of brethren. - Matt 18:16
- Bring the issue before the church, and if he doesn't heed to the church, he should be excommunicated - treated as a heathen or publican - Matt 18:17
- Whatever decision you take is final and binding - Matt 18:18 (whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loosen on earth will be loosened in heaven)
- This is so because, whenever you come together in the name of Jesus He will be there among you - in spirit - Matt 18:20
In the case of the fornicator mentioned in 1Cor 5, the initial steps are not required, as the matter is already before the church, and the church is shielding him, instead of punishing him.
Please note that Jesus was speaking of His being present among the congregation while they come together to take a decision in the case of the offender. The same concept is repeated by Paul in 1Cor 5:4
- 1Co 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
The fornicator of 1Cor 5 could have been a Jewish convert to Christian faith.
Read 1 Cor 5:1 which says that the kind of fornication that is happening in the Church of Corinth is unheard EVEN AMONG GENTILES - implying that the man who was involved in it was a Jewish convert to Christian faith.Though this man is into fornication, the church at Corinth (Achaia) was shamelessly protecting him. (Verses 2, 3). Paul tells them to deliver him to Satan while they come together in the name of Christ - as a congregation. In other words: SHIELD HIM NO MORE, EXCOMMUNICATE HIM.
